はじめまして、SUB-AUDIOは、東京を拠点に活動するリサーチ・アンド・キュラトリアル・プラクティスです。わたしたちのすべてのプロジェクトは、愛情を持って対象を深く理解することからはじまります。それはひとつの企業やブランドであることもあれば、一人のアーティストの実践、あるいは、特定の土地や今という時代であることもあります。それらを取り巻く歴史、文化、まなざし、文脈を丁寧に読み解き、異なる時代や領域とつなぎ、新しい関係性を紡ぎ出すこと——そうした営みを、わたしたちは「編集」と呼びます。しかしそれは、単なる情報の整理ではなく、そこに潜在する文脈を見出すことです。現代アート、建築、都市、ファッション、スポーツ、自然、子ども、食、テクノロジーなど、わたしたちの実践は領域を問いません。コンセプト設計、プラニング、キュレーション、ディレクション、編集、執筆、翻訳。関わり方はプロジェクトによって異なりますが、どの仕事においても、プロジェクトの核心に寄り添い、新しい視座を開くことを大切にしています。
SUB-AUDIO is a research and curatorial practice based in Tokyo. Every project begins with a deep and affectionate understanding of its subject — a brand or company, an artist's practice, a particular place, or the texture of the present moment. We read carefully through the histories, cultures, perspectives, and contexts that surround it, drawing connections across time and disciplines to bring new relationships into view. This is what we call "editing" — not the organisation of information, but the uncovering of latent context within it. Our work moves freely across contemporary art, architecture, urbanism, fashion, sport, nature, childhood, food, and technology. Concept development, planning, curation, direction, editing, writing, translation — the form of our involvement shifts with each project, but in every case, we remain close to its core, committed to opening new perspectives.
